Pierre Durandt served as a member of the project team tasked with recommending a suitable interbank settlement system to the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Committee of Central Bank Governors, based on common requirements extracted from the seven participating SADC countries. He consulted on matters related to the technical architecture and infrastructure, the implementation programme of the selected solution and the procurement process. The procurement process included the issuing of a Request for Proposal (RFP) and evaluating the proposals received from vendors. This project was concluded successfully during early April 2002, with the submission of the recommendations to the Committee of Central Bank Governors.
